Verified Outcomes

Closing a finding should mean the system changed — not that an instruction was sent. This is the difference between a remediation report and a remediation record.

What tools do today

A fix is reported done when the instruction was sent.

What you get instead

A finding closes only after the resource has been re-read and agrees.

Concrete example

Bucket re-read after the change: public access blocked → finding closed

The problem

Remediation tooling reports success when it dispatches the change. If the change then fails in the target system, nothing notices: the ticket closes, the finding disappears, and the risk is still there.
Auditors ask what changed and when. Most teams can produce a list of attempts, not a list of confirmed states, and the two are only the same on a good day.
Because failure is silent, the backlog looks like it is shrinking while the estate is not improving. Leadership acts on the first number and inherits the second.

What Aribot does

  • A finding closes only when the affected system has been re-checked and agrees.
  • Where a check is not possible, the record says unverified and stays open. Silence is never promoted to success.
  • The evidence is kept in a form you can hand to an auditor without re-assembling it later.
  • Applies to changes made through the platform and to changes made elsewhere, so the record is complete rather than partial.

Use case

Close a finding only when the system confirms it

A finding stays open until the affected system has been re-checked and agrees, so your remediation record lists confirmed changes.
