What tools do today

A fix is reported done when the instruction was sent.

What you get instead

A finding closes only after the resource has been re-read and agrees.

Concrete example

Bucket re-read after the change: public access blocked → finding closed

The problem

Automated remediation cannot prove it worked. Tools report success when the instruction was sent, not when the resource changed, so a silently failed fix and a real one look the same in the report — and the finding closes either way.
Machine identities accumulate authority nobody reviews. Access is granted at speed for a task, then outlives it. Nothing compares what an identity was given against what it has ever actually needed, so revocation is guesswork and stays undone.
Compliance answers degrade quietly. When evidence is missing, most systems substitute a default and carry on, so a control nobody tested reports the same as one that passed. The error is invisible precisely where the stakes are highest — the audit.

What Aribot does

  • Outcomes are confirmed against the system that was changed, so 'done' means observed rather than attempted.
  • Authority that is held but never exercised is surfaced as reducible, turning access review from an annual guess into a continuous, evidenced decision.
  • Absence of evidence is preserved as absence. A missing measurement is reported as unknown and never rounded into a pass.
  • Each of these is being productised inside the existing gates and audit trail rather than as a separate tool, so the record stays in one place.
  • Detail of how these work is shared under NDA — this page is deliberately limited to the problem and the result.

Who this is for

A buyer comparing vendors

When it comes up

Every tool in the shortlist claims automated remediation, and the demos all end at the moment the fix is submitted.

What changes

You can watch a finding stay open until the resource is re-read, on a live demo, before any sales conversation.

A security architect assessing risk

When it comes up

Machine identities accumulated access over years and the review has no evidence base, so it keeps being deferred.

What changes

Granted scopes are shown beside the ones ever exercised, so the reducible set is evidenced rather than estimated.

An auditor reading a posture report

When it comes up

A green score gives no way to tell a tested control from one nobody ever looked at.

What changes

Unmeasured is a visible state on screen and is excluded from the score rather than defaulted into it.

In the product

  1. 1
    Verified outcomes
Today a fix is reported done when the instruction was sent. Instead, a finding closes only after the resource has been re-read and agrees — you can watch that happen on /demos/ai-remediation, where the bucket is re-read before the finding closes.
  2. 2
    Authority that matches use
Today access is recorded when granted and never compared against behaviour. Instead, what an identity holds is shown beside what it has ever actually used — on /demos/agent-assurance, ci-deploy-bot shows 12 scopes granted, 4 ever used, 8 reducible.
  3. 3
Answers that admit what is unknown
Today a missing measurement is replaced with a default, so untested reads as passing. Instead, unmeasured stays visible and is excluded from the score — on /demos/cxo-workbench, 281 controls read as not evaluated rather than being counted as passing.
